Yamaha YZ 250B (or YZ250A)
« on: March 21, 2011, 10:15:28 am »
Here's a couple of well priced clean looking starter bikes for anyone looking for a YZA/B 250. Both bikes appear to be unmolested and pretty original despite some bits missing from the A model.

1974 Yamaha YZ 250A project bike. $2,000.00 I bought this YZ from a guy who bought it just to take some of the parts he needed. It is matching numbers and I think it is good enough to restore. The pipe is bad at the bend, it is missing quite a few parts including the left side cover, both sprockets, air box, carb and carb boot, fenders etc..The bike has been sitting since 1976 the seller told me. The cylinder looks very nice inside. The crankcase looks like some sludge, so it should be gone through. The tank has 2 very small dings on the top. I have a few parts I have bought for it. I can send pictures if serious. Thanks, Jim

There both good buys Mark......be quick.....shows how depressed the US market is.....and how overpriced SOME of our shit is (shit meaning bikes that need full resto's.....imagine being the lunatic that paid the 4 odd grand for that 250B a few months ago).
QVMX.....Australia's #1 VMX club......leading the way.

John...If I didn't have two years of projects on the production line I'd be ringing Craig in Vegas about that B model. It's hard to find a bike so original so long after their glory days. This bike is lucky it isn't legal for AHRMA's version of pre '75 or it would have gone years ago one would imagine.
