I'm in the process of building up another XT500 race bike.
I've been collecting bits and pieces for a few years now and with the race season drawing near I'm pushing to get it finished.
The frame is an XT "H" I got from the dump shop and it's had some dodgy repairs so I'm quite happy to modify it.
I've removed a couple of kgs of brackets and braces, lowered the footpegs and deraked it.
The motor is and overbored SR500 with a hi-comp piston I picked up locally.
The bike has 43mm forks with suitable springs and PD valves and my super-duper offset steering shaft. A PE swingarm and OHLINS shocks. I'm fitting a YZ125C tank at present and still need to make and airbox and pipe.
I'm making or finding all the little fiddly bits that take up all the time, axle spacers, mounts, brackets, levers, etc.
I'm doing this arse about really, it will get built, raced for most of the year then pulled apart and cleaned up and painted.
Cheers
Brent
