Oh Dear Me
« on: March 05, 2011, 04:33:31 pm »
Just painted a set of husky cases with 3m heatproof paint.
Chucked them in the oven to bake at 200 deg for 30 minutes.
Missus is away for the weekend.
Filled the house full of painty smelling smoke. :o
Paint lost it,s flat black colour and is now a flat grey colour.
Missus is due back Sunday night.
Oh dear me what can I do ?

Mike your first mistake was cranking the oven up to 200 degrees. I usually only go to about 80-100 degrees for about half an hour. In fact I'm doing a set of cases during next week. To fix the odor burn some incense, I prefer jasmine or vanilla.......trust me, it works. ;)

Whoops I got busted this Arvo with a water pump cover "baking" in the oven  :o best trick I've found to avoid the smell is to paint it and then wait a week to let the solvents evaporate much less greif and smell.

Can says 200c.
Also says can withstand up to 650c.
Sprayed the cases with inox, that put the shine back.
Now what to do about the drapes ? ;D
May never get to ride this bike I,me thinking. :)

Ok this is what you do,
1. make a lovely salad put it in the fridge.
2. have her favorite refreshment chilling.
3. go to the super market, buy one of those already made Lasagne's
4. stick it in the oven an hour before she gets home
5. half hour before she gets home wack the heat up another notch.
6.add garlic bread, and wack the heat up another notch.
7.make sure it has a burning smell to it, if it doesn't wack the heat up again.
By the time she gets home it should be well and truely burnt :) and thats all she will smell, burnt Lasagne and burnt garlic bread. However do not be alarmed, she will so gratefull that you went out of your way to cook for her, when she opens the fridge and see's the lovely salad you've prepared and her favorite drink chilling, she won't care about the burnt food, and you my friend will come out smelling like roses ;)

Keep Smiling :)
Jackie Mac

and Debbie says 'maybe she will need a new set of rings' but I can't figure how more compression will fix the smell.

Take it from someone who has done this ::). You are going be in the bad books for a couple of weeks and every time you speak about the bike she will tell them how stupid you were and what you did for the rest of your life :) Darcy
