Awesome meeting, happy with my result, best I have achieved in Pro Vintage. Our tires probably not the goods and Chris Carr (Golden Tire Importer and AMA No1, 7 times) gave me a fresh set of soft compounds for the Nationals next week. All in all 2nd was Ok, hard to get brain up to speed, changed gearing 4 times, kept going up a bit at a time, the place is Fast.

Jarrod Mees current No1 before he punched through the chain-mesh fence in turn 1 and broke his arm.
Apparently he pulled a fair heap of it off and it was difficult to get him out, Sammy Halbot won the meet, due to the rainouts there was a good roll up of GNC riders. Rob Pearson (has helped Aussie riders over there) rode well and was good to catch up with him. Seen the latest things, will post pics later.

Well done, its hard to beat them on their home tracks,
They know exactly what gearing to use as the dirt changes and moves,
They know exactly what pressures to run,
They have so many Old Heads in their corners, some with 50 years or more experience of that very dirt,
rob Pearson is one of Rubbermans mates, don't be surprised to see him in OZ this Summer.
Good Luck to you, Rubberman and TommyGun Edwards,

Barry Briggs and Ivan Mauger rode Brit/Aussie style dirt track sliders at (I think) the Houston Astrodome in the early seventies but didn't achieve much. I think it's a horses for courses thing, the sliders wouldn't work on their blue line hard tracks as much as the American dirt trackers don't work so well on our tracks.

Go for their jugular Pete but don't worry about Davey's Donuts, it's the 10" high stack of pancakes, syrup and bacon that bought me unstuck, it's a trap for unwary breakfast diners ;D.

The Kawasaki of Brandon Robinson, currently leading the championship, quick on the mile, just not the grunt out off turns on the Half-Mile.

Sammy Halbot at speed in the main, the bloke is under 5ft, I swear, and he is already starting to crouch down and get under the paint well before the straightaway.

The Ameteur Grands are finished, been a disappoint for me, the old bike not quite a match for the moderns. Half-mile was good with a 4th place, TT was a shocker and the mile cancelled because of rain, an extra short track was added and I got a bad 4th in both races. 4th Overall.
