Looks really bad. Sadly there have been fatalities. Numbers as yet unknown.

Yes this one is worse than the first, lots of injuries and fatalities.
I was there again last week and given the weak state of the buildings, something like this will be the final nail in the coffin (no pun intended).

Events like this and whats happened in SE QLD, helps put the day to day trivial matters in perspective.

Needless to say my thought are with friends and family.Just waiting to hear that all my family are ok,sounds promising, but a lot of people wont be so lucky I fear.

Just when we thought there had been enough devastation over these last few months, then comes this. Our family sends special thoughts to all those affected by this terrible event.

Footage coming out on the TV reminds me of the twin towers--total devastation.
Our love to family and friends.

Hey mate let us know they are alright, what a freaking mess.

Maybe the freaking Government should have bought Ambulances instead of BMWs after all.

This one was a lot more violent than the first quake in September. It did not go as long but things (buildings, roads) were moving big time. I don,t know if the damage under ground will be as bad as Sep quake but there is a lot more damage above the ground. The bikes have been damaged in the garage more in the last 6 mounths than they have on the track. There has been loss of life & by the state of the buildings here they will unfortunately be pulling more bodys out.
We are still getting shakes now so it will make it hard for the rescuers

Hey DP better keep your head down mate. Just been looking at the water coming out of the ground in some places. Pretty miserable looking.

Yes. Water & silt is coming out from the ground & flowing down the roads. Since I did my first post we have had 3 more aftershocks, not to good on the kids .

Apparently there was a big medical conferance on, so they arent short staffed for medical help on the ground.

Yeah apparently the hospitals are still full operational. Like DP said the kids and people generally will be hell of a shaken up, nothing like multiple earthquakes to scare the shit out of you.

Handy, half the problem is transporting people as the roads are cracked & parts of buildings are now laying on the road.
In September the Civil Defense & Government did a excellent job & have good systems in place so hopefully they will be quick to rescue people that need help. At least this time we still have power & it is daylight so we can see what is happening

People here were just starting to think positive again but this will dampen a lot of spirits.
