I'm finding this a lot harder than I thought I would. I love those exotic works bikes from the 80's and if I'd have to pick from them I'd go for Carla's alloy framed YZ500 Yamaha. I'd also like to have one of the early RH or RN Suzukis but when it comes to crunch time I'd love to have Sten Lundins Lito more than any.....I guess it's my age coming through here but I reckon it's gorgeous.

The 1988 YZM500 Yamaha is as trick as it got before they changed the rules. I'd imagine if Yamaha had made a production version of this bike in 1990 motocross history would be very different.

73/74 SPP Honda754 powered MX sidecar. Ok not technically a factory works bike as all sidecars were/are low number hand built specials, but the Haller brothers did win the European (read World ) title on the particular one I would love. Cheers Tim754

Yep, and Jonny O'Mara went past it on a production CR125 like it wasn't even there!

Thorpe had no back brake when Omara passed him  ::) and on that track riding with no rear brake is some feat in itself (ever been to Maggiora it was a proper GP circuit with hills that would make your nose bleed just looking down them) . Great ride by the O show but his 125 wasn't exactly production ( des nations you didn't have to run to the bullshit Yank production rules )

No back brake?!, thats what i'd be saying too if I was the 500cc world champ that had just been flogged by a 125
