Putting the "H" back into Vinduro
« on: February 04, 2011, 01:37:00 pm »
Time to start a new thread about my bike builds, hopefully it won't be going for three years like project TM-S185,
first off I'm doing two concurrent builds a 1981 IT175H and a 1981 TT250H....

I will add more in-depth description and pics later.... ;)

I reckon I have a chain case (black plastic gaurd that fits to the swing arm on the chain side) to fit your IT. Not too bad condition from memory, maybe a split eyelet. Any how, I am happy to donate to your cause if you need one.

Cheers Jason

IT175 is now dismantled/sand blasted and off to the powder coaters, seat has been recovered, new DT175 speedo base plate has been welded to the IT speedo mount and not a hell of a lot else as I have been fixing my old scooter (adapting a chinese muffler as the OEM is no longer available)

 some before pics...

and my scooter, with FM radio and marine speakers, (paid $500 for it  ;D)

Nice job on the rebuild. One point to note that the original speedo for that model IT is a plastic mount and unit like what you originally had in your first picture. The ones you have are for the J model IT's which have the hook to mount the headlight. Are you running the original headlight assembly.
Keep the pics coming.

I still have the plastic mount but I needed somewhere to mount the key switch and there are no clearance issues with the original 'H' headlight.
