[QLD] 1984 CR250 RE UPDATE -SOLD
« on: February 04, 2011, 12:55:13 am »
Regretfully I am selling some of my bikes and this ad is for my 1984 CR250RE.

I have plenty of more detailed pictures if required.

This bike is a well looked after and low “mileage” unit.  Everything on the bike is in good condition, all bearings are fantastic, all the plastics are original and in excellent condition, all linkages are tight and show little, if any, wear.  The exhaust has a small dent but other than that is in excellent condition with original Honda muffler, the foot pegs are tight, the kick starter ad gear levers are original and tight, the chain and sprockets are quality ones (not cheap garbage) in almost new condition etc etc.

This is an excellent bike.  Sure it’s not a show piece that you would have in a collection or in your lounge room but it is the next best thing and a bike that you can show up at a VMX meeting and be proud of.  And it is easily capable of winning if you want to race at the front.

This bike is very original and in excellent overall condition having just had a complete motor rebuild with the parts alone costing well over $1000.  That includes a new Hot Rod crank, new Wiseco 1mm Oversize piston and rebore (was previously on a very well worn original bore!!).  The cylinder head was resurfaced, every bearing, seal and gasket in the motor was replaced and a NOS water pump kit was fitted.  The motor has had a 20 minute ride to run it in and to ensure everything is working as it should.  The bike is powerful and very fast and is so easy to ride.

The tyres are 3 races old, the suspension has done 2-3 hours (at the most) since full rebuild.  The forks are unmarked under the gaiters.  It also has renthal bars.

Price is $4000.

Inspections welcome. I hope I haven’t left anything out but if I have or if you have any questions please call Craig on 0407 654 564.

Forgot to add that the clutch cover/water pump area is the best I have ever seen for corrosion as it has almost none aside from the smallest amount that looks more like gentle pitting.  I did put a small scrape of devcon in there but compared to others I've seen, its as close to mint as you are likely to get.

Thanks for the nice comments guys.

Sorry I forgot to put my location in the ad (  :-[).  I'm at Woombye on the Sunshine Coast, 1 hour North of Brisvegas.

Cheers
