Talk of LANDMAN going to Farleigh jars me a bit.   I'd just hope he goes to CD8 as well.
After all these years of "ML DNS", I'd hate to think he'd leapfrog his legion of 1970s fans for the UK event.

We Vics revered the MLTF Milledge Team.   Please Mike, come to CD8 too!

I have been involve with vintage ever since it started and l have race against Mike Landman over the years, but he has showed no interest in the vintage race meetings here in Victoria, so why are you making a big fuss over this guy.  Big deal if he goes to the UK, who cares, Ron Dinsdale rates higher on my list as a contender.

It would be great to see more guys like Landman, the Floods, Cramer, Dinsdale, Goof etc at Classic Dirt... As it is now it's pretty much the same crew every year.

Ron dinsdale came and raced Rob Watson Bultaco each year, its was great to see and you here about the Amercian Champion and the UK champions racing the vintage, Cramer, would only come out if their was a dollar in it. Gary Flood has showed a couple time, Ray fisher he comes out only on big events, Gary Adam came out when his mates drags him along, but l must say early stages of vintage meetings he did ride a bucket classes and he did enjoy the fun of that. Who cares if they are slow, it was apart of our lifes and history, sorry fellows l am over it, l don`t lick anybody`s arse. We put these Champion on pedicel, and what do they give back, we all have raced and rubbed shoulders with these guy`s over the years from the 60`s to the 80`s.
Sure they where quick in their day and we where too, but know one cares about us, these guy`s  had good sponsorship and support to do it. Tell me would mike Landman go out and buy for the first time a vintage bike and restore it or even race it, he would expect it to be handed to him on a platter, and their is pleny out their that would get on their knees and do just that. :'(

Why the lack of respect?
What Mike does is his business and why should we pass judgement on what we think he should do (or not)
I know Mike and he is one of the more genuine people that exist in our sport.

Rod, I have respect for Mike as a rider and person, his passion regarding vintage motorcross and promoting vintage just by attending the events as a rider or as a person at times would do more for our sport and its others too. We see champion like the great man himself Roger De Coster, When l got my photo taken at Broadford with Brad Lackey it was a dream come true, And these fellows attend vintage race meeting all the time. I rest my case.

David, I think you are being very hard on the champions of the past. If their circumstances have been such that they have other more important things to do with their life and not be involved with VMX, I don't think they deserve to be slagged off on this forum. Mike has raised a couple of very quick late model motocross racer sons and I am sure that they have taken up many of the last 10 or 12 years or so. Slowly we are seeing some of the legends of our sport becoming interested such as Ray Vandenberg, Gary Armstrong etc etc and even today Anton Alers made his first posts on the forum.
I think Roger Harvey is making a concerted effort to contact some of these past champions and try and get them involved, with some success I believe.

Stan.

Dave, Anton's first couple of posts were on the "1975 Wallan International Program thread"
By the way what race was it at the 27th of Jan. 1974 Seaford meeting that you beat Mike as I have the program here and can't find that result but I see you were #115 non expert at that meeting ???
Do you want me to post that program?

Stan.
