New project - Pursang Mk 11

Hi all,
I've just acquired a very original Pursang Mk 11 , which I intend to race. Its not going to be a full resto, just an engine rebuild and mods to make it reliable.

Marks cool Bully lived in my shed for a week until he had the time to come and pick it up. I was sad to see it go but I was glad that I managed to convince him that it was far too good to restore. This is one of those bikes that need to be preserved as is.  I once rode Anthony Suttors Mk 11 and remember it to be a sweet engine and very light. Despite what my chums over at Bultaco Central might think, I love Pursangs and would own this bike in a heartbeat (if I had any money left  ;D)

What a shame that being a '78 model, it's a tad too new for pre '78 where I reckon it'd shine.

Hi,
I'm going to be very interested to see how it compares to my 1978 Honda CR250 that Magoo restored for me. According to Jim Pomeroy when he was here for Classic Dirt 4 at Barrabool, he helped design both of them - why do you think there is a left foot kickstart on the CR250!!

I had one of those. I reckon' Stan might remember who's it was before I got it (it was a bought in Ballarat). It had 'Retravision' on the tank I remember that much.
After continually blowing the thing up I think the motor went into a cart and the frame was cut up for scrap :'(.

Thats a great find Mark,there woudn't be anymore of these lying around in such original condition. Has it still got the original Pirellis on it?
 I agree that its not a bike to restore,a bit of black paint on the cases,set of rings maybe and ready for action.

I just checked my photos of the bike and it does indeed have the original Pirelli tyres on it!
Should I preserve them somehow... ; )

Now that those Pirelli's have matured,I would use them on the bike,they should last for years. !!! They will also sharpen up your riding skills,Whooooa.
