it250f/g vs yz250f
« on: January 23, 2011, 09:02:02 am »
does anyone know whether the it250 f and G (79/80) models are the same engine (or will bolt into the frame) as a 79 YZ250F

I know the IT's tended to be updated a year later than the YZ's so I'm assuming the G model IT was basically the same as an F model YZ. Does anyone know for sure though?

Cheers

IT250F/G are pretty much the same engine, YZ250F engine is a straight swap/fit with either (gearbox ratios will be different and the IT's have more width for outer rotor type flywheel)

no, I'm not building a 250.

I've convinced another poor unsuspecting fool that he needs to get into VMX. He picked up a 250F roller and we're trying to find a motor for it.

Didn't the IT  have a center exhaust port and the YZ to the side?

well spotted Tony, it did indeed seem as if Big Ted was hijacking the thread. I'm going to write to my local MP.
