RM PE seats
« on: January 22, 2011, 08:18:18 pm »
Going through my small stash of seats, what model fitted what..ie RM-PE
Trying to sort out what i have to make better room in the shed...almost impossible  :D
I have 3 seats plastic bases and they fit a PE175C frame.
Were the RM seat base of the era the same? RM125C 250C etc

I also have a metal base PE seat...which is shorter than the plastic based seats

Was the metal base seat for the PE B alloy tank?

My PE400T seat against the RM125T seat same shape-ish diff length obviously
easy to work out so i have them sorted.

Cheers...Mario

All

77-79 B/C/N PE's - metal base
80-84 T/X/Z/D/E PE's - plastic base

80-82 PE250 & 400 seats are the same
80-81 PE175 seats are similar to 250/400 but are shorter (its very obvious as the seat doesnt cover the rear fernder as much)
82-84 175 seats are all the same shape but ure less of a 'block' shaper than the earlier seats and have more of an angle on bottom edge.
Wanted - 1978 TS185 frame or frame&motor. Frame # TS1852-24007 up to TS1852-39022

That must mean that those plastic base seats are all RM...which i mentioned in my PE build that the PE covered seat has 2 covers...which i assumed might have an RM cover under it  :D....investigation time!

That makes it clearer Leith to say they are RM A? B? C seats? Not sure on A as it could be metal base.
I should look on my RM125C but that involves work and my house is a mess at the moment with the C in the kitchen :P
Thanks Leith and Michael.

later models had a part # stamped into plastic base.

Rm T  250-400  PE T/X  250-400    = 40310 -81065              YES THEY ARE THE SAME SET BASE
RM T  125                                     = 40210 -81083
PE  T/X   175                                 = 40220 -81083

I checked the numbers oldfart and tried to match them to zedder and came up blank, but will check them against each other tomorrow, plus they have updated numbers stamped into the base and under the hook which made it hard to read.

If you are referring to the PE, you are definately incorrect. ALL of the PE  B/C/N model seats had the steel base.

Ha, yeah i knew that, i thought about mentioning the thing about the UK seats being sorter but didnt think many people would need to know that here since not many people are running an alloy tank on a T-E model
