So your doing OK huh, big shed, choc-a-block with bikes and NOS parts, nice car(s) well check this little collection out. I would imagine he has a few MXer's to probably a few VMXer's too.A serious petrolhead.

That is a serious collection. You'd be surprised what people have in their sheds. About five years ago I visited the house of a bloke in Sydney who had at least 10 GP road racers three current spec Harley flat trackers, at least six formula 1 cars, a bunch of speedway bikes, a couple of vintage midget speedcars and a bunch of McLaren, Lola, Porsche Le Mans style cars. This guy is so secretive about the collection his work partner didn't know he had half the stuff. Apparently he had more stuff including GTHO Falcons and a couple of historic top fuel drag cars at another location. He made me promise not to tell anybody who he is or what he had . All I can say is that he was a strange puppy.

when you tell folk the grape vine moves fast and everyone knows, next minute people start turing up on your door, or things go missing.  i feel for the bloke, collecting can turn you parnoid and introvert, mostly for good reason.

I know what you are on about Mark, about 10 years ago I answered and advert for a Velocette and went to have a look, the guy had a Harley board tracker once owned by some name like La Vac??? famous I just forget exactly, 1917 4 valve head really exotic, under his house though he had a 100 bikes from the early 1900s and 20s all greased up in shit condition too close to the surf, some fine vee twin stuff going to waste and wouldnt part with anything including the Velo he advertised, complete weirdo

hey tanner that sounds like that real weirdo we have out north here in SA, this guy has stacks of shall we say '3 wheel bike' collection in a massive underground bunker cellar in a secret spot 10 mins from where he lives.  Real nice bikes down there, forgot where i was for a moment he took me on a wild mystery tour so i couldnt retrace my steps back there.   Its like 15 ft underground, i think he was planning for when the bomb get's dropped he was going to ride out from his under ground lair like Mad Max, or he still has delusions of it being Batman Batcave ?     ;D


actually i wonder how long he will take to bite  ;)

Wasn't at Batemans Bay was it?

Some time ago I was working on a guys guttering and looked over the neighbour's fence. The yard was fully of various British stuff, in the yard, in the shed, everywhere. No particular attention to keeping it safe from the weather (about 5 k's from the surf and 500 from the Bay). Tried to engage him regarding a TSS350 watercooled Bully.

Had some idea that everything was worth a fortune. He was right, if restored or restorable. Probably still there supporting the fence and slowly rusting, rusting, rusting, rusting away ::) :o :( >:(

Thats a serious collection of a serious petrol head. Notice to see that he gets them out and uses them as intended 8).

Good to hear. I would have put money on it ending up in a dumpster then land fill. I thought the guy was bit of a dick - Didn't really seem to know what he had or it value. Didn't push real hard. Didn't have the money and didn't have the interest in Pommy and only mildly interested in Road Racing.

did you guys get Fat cat on the TV over there ? well he had a side kicked called ian wilson, any how he was an avid car collector old stuff like rolls, scooter all od bod stuff, when he seperated from his wife, his dream became  a reality he ended up buying a  huge dry cleaning factory that went broke, and gutted it.  Stored all his cars in there and lives inside, he is currently doing the management talk curcuit, great guy but he love and live his cars.  mmmmmm car/house/bikes/warehouse...............surrounded in perfect boys world :O)

I have no real opinion of the bloke, but FFS, fitting a 12A to a 110S is unforgivable. Mada bends over backwards to help owners/restorers of 110Ses and R130s*, and Leno goes in all ham fisted and jams RX-7 bits in there...

It's like fitting a YZ250H motor to Hallman's 1971 works YZ250. >:(
