rh250'75. Making a start.

Well its been pulled out of the shelves by my factory works mechanic 'dodgee'. A nickname like that doesn't instil a lot of confidence you might think but he has served me well!
Just thought I would put a couple of pics up as he was mocking it together to sort out the brackets, parts needed etc.
The tank was a downer as I got it painted so as I could get the other Joel's signature (impostor!) but never mounted it to see if it fit. It was a hand made item, copied from another but the rear mount doesn't fit and found that the tap when screwed in is on the piss (doh!).
Anyone know the frame numbers to work out if its a converted 74 or a 75?
Did they just modify 74 frames for 75 or were there 75 specific frames with there own designated frame number?

jeez, you've got Dad building the CZ's, Dodge doing the suzuki's, I'm assuming you have a hammock set up somewhere while they're working away?

looking good though, at least the wet weather is good for getting into the shed and getting stuff done.

is the tank a no-go then, or can you make it work?

Looks like the other Joel has shakier hands than when he signed my tank  ::)

It was quite funny as a few people had tanks for him to sign and his comment was that they all had too much red in the yellow. He didn't realise he was sitting under a red tent!

Have I got it sorted or what!
I'm putting the tank in the too hard basket for now. I might just run down to my Suzuki dealer and order one tomorrow ::)

The '74 frame and swingarm are different to the '75 model. That's a '75 swingarm you've got and the frame also appears to be '75. The '74 frame has the swingarm bearings mounted in the frame.

Didn't they also modify '74's to 75 spec from the factory/ wholesaler (Mayfairs)?

Local State distributors modified the frames on left over '74 models to be similar to the '75 setup but they were not exactly the same as a '75.
