3/4 of you fellows have never ridden at the mortlake track, it was the best at the time, best track for 2010  Duno.

Hey David, i don't know what the old Mortlake track has to do with "best track for 2010" but I'm with you as it was a fantastic track in the early days and then later for some one off type classic and pre 80 events.
It was the only track I could get the CCM flat out in top (3rd) down the long back straight ;D ;D.
Here's a couple of pic's from 78.

Stan.

The best track that I got to ride on in 2010, would be a toss up between Malanda N.Q natural terrain and Conondale. The photo I took of Malanda isn't a very good one, as it doesn't show the layout of the track, but it gives a bit of an idea of the terrain . I am envious of the guys who got to ride Farleigh this year and I hope that I can get to go in the next year or two . I see on the MXTrax.UK forum , that Chris from S.A has asked about the possibility of having the Vets MX of Nations held over two consecutive weekends at Farleigh and Namur. I thought that Namur was done and dusted, but apparently there still may be a chance of something happening there. I would definitely have to get my arse into gear , if there was a chance of riding both those tracks in the one trip .http://forums.mxtrax.co.uk/showthread.php?t=289056

Even though I'm from far away NSW I had a hoot both times I went to Mortlake, I've never seen a track like it before or since. Jeez it got cold there though. The off cambers were a bit tricky but shit it was faaaast :o.

And Mark, when you were there, did you have to wait for the fog to clear so you could see where the track was before practice could get started. It happened to me many times over the years.

Rode Hawkstone Park [England] in 2000 --for atmosphere ,history ,and "the hill" it is right up there. Glen Helen ,Linkoping, & Farleigh follow in that order.Narrogin & Conondale in Oz.

To me Nepean is the favourite, I admit I don't get around to the other tracks these days although the weekend at Griffith was great. Nepean just seems to get better every year, thanks to the people who put so much effort into it.
Going back in history I have fond memories of Moorebank scramble track,Vineyards short circuit, Boxers Creek, Neminga and Taree.
I also rode at  SaltyCreek, Heddon Greta, and once at a grass track/scramble at a track near Longford in Tas. Does that mean I rode overseas???
But Nepean is my favourite. cheers pancho. ps, I never rode at Bossley Bush but I watched once or twice, also watched at Henry Lawson Drive in the days when my bike was the treadly kind.
dont follow me i'm probably off line!

What i have read and watch on video hawkstone Park England would have be a challenging track to ride, l had the opportunity to race in New Zealand not sure what year early 70`s but what stopped us from going, one of the marshell boys got killed racing, we were booked to stay at their home, john herd (RIP) Maico #60, and myself and a couple of others. It was a shame and sad day.
