Keihin vs Mikuni ?
« on: December 09, 2010, 09:28:16 am »
We've been advised to switch to Keihin smooth bore as they are supposed to be much easier to tune than Mikunis-what's the word??

Mikuni make the better round slide and Keihin make the better flat slide.

How can anything be easier to jet than a Round side Muk ?

I reckon even my mum could figure out the number system........
74 Yamaha YZ's - 75 Yamaha YZ's
74 Yamaha  flattracker's
70  Jawa 2 valve speedway's

For sale -  PRE 75 Yamaha MX stuff, frame, motors and parts also some YAM DT1,2,A and Suzi TS bikes and stuff

It's a Holden or Ford question, there is no right answer. So Freaky said the VM Mikuni is as good as any and dead easy to tune.

Nah, if I really was I would have answered AMAL ;D
I wasn't being a smart arse with my Bing answer either. They might blubber and leak a little but nothing works better on a pre 80 era piston port open class two stroke full stop*. I may even fit one to my Cheney Yamaha. Once a Bing man.....always a Bing man. ;)

*Of course the carb must be in perfect condition, worn Bings are at the other end of the equation, they cause all sorts of tuning problems and are the reason many people hate them.
