2.DT1 for 6K....reserve not met....absolute shitbox.
3. XR75 for 5K....reserve not met.....nice bike.

6. B50MX ....12.5K... supposedly never seen dirt....nice bike
I know it's the silly season but I know from my customers that money is still tight so "have I missed something"?

They are now all collectable/desirable. That price is pretty normal these days. I know a lot of SA guys easily willing to pay that and more. They are pretty popular and sought after here now and have a cult following because of the XT/TT500 Muster event. A lot of guys are addicted to them and are trying to get one frome every year from 76-81 and will pay what ever they have to, to get the model they need for their collection.
Wanted - 1978 TS185 frame or frame&motor. Frame # TS1852-24007 up to TS1852-39022

Yea, what is it with you South Aussies.....you not only have freaky and Vwalter but have an effection/addiction with TT500's (in my opinion the best 4 stroke in the 70's....Honda's had shit engines and only lifted there game after Yamaha joined in ;)).....what the?

Yep and NOS rules with these guys, the more stock with matching numbers they are the more they love em.

I saw NOS TT500 road kit ( speedo, light etc ) go for 1200 USD. The early TT500 underside exhaust  systems fetch also pretty serious money 5-600. NOS parts also change the pricing and cost of restoration considerably.

In my blue book of prices I would say you need to bring 8-10K  to the TT500 party to get a very clean orange tank model or TT500H.

Yep grand a time is not unusual ..... they need bang on panel work as alloy has to be polished also paint is complex for a dirt bike.

For all the over priced stuff there are still some nice buys about.... this is my pick of the day

But for having a 75 KX250 I would be on it like a fat kid on a smarty...... my main issue is lack of green at the moment. My F1 Ducati has absorbed some funds.

Lots of bikes for sale ATM - people trying to raise cash before Xmas, and/or trying to cash in on the people who buy a bike for Xmas/Summer holidays.

The going rate for average PW50s has doubled in the last three weeks, with some crappy ones selling for silly money.

Even crappy project bikes are attracting a lot of interest - half of them end up back on Epaybefore the end of January when the buyer figures out that the "just a carby clean out" is actually a conrod hanging out the bottom of the cases and they've already missed the annual piss-up & ridin' weekend with their mates...
The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.

This bloke's the best I've seen in a while. http://ozvmx.com/community/index.php?topic=16370.msg163627;topicseen#msg163627

Sure, there's some overly expensive bikes out there but I reckon there's way more bargains than overpriced speculators. A quick browse of Marks Swapmeet tells you that there's a big chasm between eBay speculation and real world pricing a'la the Swapmeet.

John, you're a tosser!
i think you should do your bit to level the playing field here and prove that nice bikes can be bought/sold at a fair price.
i'll give you $2K for your 250a... ;)
