HEAVEN TO RUN PRE90 IN 2011

Is this correct? I was in Procycles this morning and got talking to a fella about vintage and he said the new Heaven committee has decided to run with pre90 next year as they are worried of loosing too many members to the newly formed Retro MX group. I hope this is so  . Now to get my 87 KX 250 back to race condition.

I'd love to be wrong, but I seriously doubt it.

At the least, the HEAVEN constitution needs to be changed to allow it, and that's a slow, difficult process (particularly at this time of the year).

I've been following this forum for a few years now and I know you are anti pre90 and you like to stir things up so how about you start a thread on chinese shocks.

The Heaven Constitution does not currently allow a Pre90 class as Nathan pointed out. The new Committee probably has not even met yet. If they have I suspect that next year’s program and other issues such as tracks and facilities are the top priority

There is however another NSW group, some of which are also Heaven members, who are currently forming to run Pre90. Hopefully a good working relationship can be established between the two groups so as to ensure mutual benifit and not conflict.

I thought we had done this subject to death a few months ago and the Club had a long discussion at a formal meeting. The result of which was the status quo to remain. This is Heaven Club business so it’s not really helpful to start another free for all on a public forum surely.

I did not feel that anyone was against Pre90 just for the sake of it but not for Heaven at present.

my feeling towards all of this is, pre90 is hear to stay, adopt it, filter  throught the good points and bad points of that era what you can use and what is eligile of that era. and in embrase it , and that will be it done and dusted no more, cut the roots off, so it doesn`t grow anymore. Then the clubs can run two meeting a year if they want too.

Montynut where is the place to discuss Heaven business, at a race track on a Saturday afternoon. This isn't the place to conduct a general meeting. There's no other place to discuss matters another than this forum. As for the constitution preventing the running of pre90 thats rubbish if the committee see pre90 to be in the best interests of the club just run with it. A constitution doesn't legally bind you to do anything. You old blokes with your blinkers on will eventually kill off VMX in NSW, I just hope this NEW Retro group forges ahead to save the sport in NSW. I raced with Viper for 5 years and pre90 is the backbone of that club. Jerry if your out there join in and tell this mob of our conversation at Procycles. I've also been told that the Retro group will be running with evo, pre85 and pre90, so does that leave Heaven with 20 old blokes racing pre78 at Bulahdelah. That'll be some club! And YeSS they will all be running Chinese socks
