I would love to buy your old bike but then l wont have any compition, the thought was also that we could then enter more classes on the day, ie-- pre 85, b-grade modern, and if l can get the right bike maybe enduro as well.........

The ASA are running a pre 90 class now and I'm happy to stick some lights on mine to do an enduro with you when you get one.

How are they going to travel on the same track as the peewee's(50cc-80cc) & pre75 .....??
If the #'s get too big the track will be cut up to the max.   :-\
Wasp no need to comment  ;D
cheers

You ride the bikes to the conditions and if you are riding a pw 50 anything other than a go kart track is going to feel rough and at the moment the numbers aren't big so its not a problem

We send the pee-wees out with a cut lunch and a compass( camel -back and tool -bag) just like on the Dakar, they come back eventually, usually just before it gets dark. Great to watch but. :D :D :D

Its gonna be hard if you plan comming to SA do some, because transport SA are no longer handing out permits for non complianced bikes. So you have 2 options, spend the dollars and get it fully ADR approved which a couple of guys have done, or you do what many have done for a while and do it the shonky way and take the complicance and rego plate off the donor solo bike for example an EXC 525 KTM for example (which im sure they will crack down on too), or you build up a home made outfit onto an older 90's solo bike or something that has a decent chassis. It kinda sucks because there is no longer any new factory made solo enduro bikes that are really suitable to put home built sidecar on and do it the legal way because they all have pissy frames and the back half of the frame is just a few alloy bars holding the seat and fender up. Not sure whats gonna happen now , but it will be interesting to see what the 2011 season ends up like. I'm hoping the road trials committee strikes some deal with transport SA to be able to allow the non complianced MX based outfits to still compete in the trials, but it doesnt seem likely. Now everyone will be wishing they kept their XR and TT600 rock hoppers! Transport SA are reallly becoming anti sidecars  >:(

And if you mount a Wasp tank to it  you can also go for the pre 74 class . Yep thats about the mentality
I have a spare wasp tank if you need!

What does the SA transport base their anti sidecar ruling on LWC? The Brits have long given sidecars the nod over solos-even for beginners- as their(sidecars) accident rate is very low and therefore much safer in their eyes.
I would like to see the claims put in by Enduro sideacars/road trialists to the 3rd party system of SA-I doubt there would be 1 if any at all.
No back to the VMX sidecar scrap..........

Back to the question. Popye. Did you have any luck with that EML in the UK. I think it's still for sale. Only problem is the cost to get it here.
You don't have to be, but it helps.

Leave a case of Black Rats on the passenger deck and I'll come by and pick it up Robin.
