20K ::) It's a nice bike but dear Gav might have to wait a wee while to get that kind of money. :o
It makes the '78 that Jonesy just got out of Sweden for 5k au look pretty cheap. I wonder if the banana swingarm on Gavins bike is right for pre '78?

Hi Mark,
Yes, $20k is not a small amount of money, but as with all of Gavins toys you know you're getting a top quality, well maintained and well sorted race bike.

Can anyone tell me what the CCM 77/78 models are like to ride?- all going nicely and the beast is performing as it should etc. I have always had a real soft spot (or is that a hard spot) for these beautiful machines.
I can still see Lester Crowe thundering around Amaroo MX circuit on his yellow tanked CCM giving the" Big Names"  a real fight.

I think you mean Lester Rowley who campained the CCM in Mr MX, it was cool seeing that 4 sroke running up there with the 2 strokes.

Yep that sounds better Johnnie. I'm not sure where Crowe came from!! It has been a long sunday.
Was he from SA? Always had a lot of respect for riders on these type of bikes - Banks,Aberg, Aird,Rowley etc holding out against the 2 strokes. Now I just need to find $20K!

Only time I've actually seen one raced was way back when, at the Jilliby track. All I really remember was the unreal noise it made and the bleeding great roost from the behind when it was opened up. 8)
I've just rattled the piggybank and I've got about $10.55.....do you think an offer would be in order? ;)

Yeah Lester Rowley was from SA, you may have been thinking of Les Crowe from NSW i think.
I'd love a late 70's CCM to race, there's a couple on UK ebay at the moment.

Was a good bike for a good price. Even better is that I believe it will stay on the track in NSW.
