Rider Demographic
« on: November 15, 2010, 01:17:44 pm »
Hi guys,

I am new to the vmx movement, am 41 years old married kids etc live in Sydney and raced back in the day.
Kids are a bit older now so I went and bought a pair of CR's 84 and 85 500's.
Been doing some research Viper in Vic has pre 85 and Pre 90 so does QVMX in Qld.
So why is NSW dragging the chain???
Surely there is a heap of guys in my situation/demographic that have raced and or are passionate about Pre85 and Pre90.

Frustrated
Hugo

Yes there are and finally pre 90 will come, but you have to ask at which point does it stop being VMX. I would like an 88 YZ250 for old times sake, but they have good motor and twin discs and are really starting to knock on the door of a modern bikes performance.... which misses the point of VMX.

Hi Mark sorry but i disagree, a 88 model may look very similar to a modern more so than say a 78 model but ride the 88 back to back with say a 08 model
and the difference is immense, so it's only VMX if it looks the part (OLD)?  ??? Hugo im with you brother, frustrated with the VMX scene in NSW.

The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.

Hello Snowy, let me tell you what is BULLSHIT, the heaven members that have sent me abusive emails because i
dare say i'm frustrated with vmx in NSW. These people should venture south & take in a viper meeting or even a
modern meeting to see how a race meeting can be run. A lot of the people involved in the running of the heaven meetings
i attended seemed more interested in getting drunk on the saturday night & this results in racing starting late on sunday
morning. At 1 of the 2 meeting i've been to i only had a evo bike & didn't get on the track sunday untill after midday. I hope
to make it to Pacific Park this sunday & have a look at the retro club, i hope this is a better option otherwise i will be
parking my bikes & maybe venture south a couple of times next year for the odd viper meeting. This will be my last
comment on the heaven club.

Bullshit or no Bullshit...clubs and us VMX ethusiasts cant afford to be arigant and ignore new wanna be's.
Preserving an era is just that --preserving all who appoarch.
If you have an issue it needs to be addressed by the club president not on a forum or via email.
Club presidents have to be savyy and have class now dayz if they want there vmx scene to develop 8)

any way back to the demograhics,if in the west join the best   ;)   ;D
