had a question asked to me about aircooled 500cc class competition .Where to be precise would a 1992 wr500 find a class to compete? Is there a post 90 aircooled class?Whilst trying to educate the masses on VMX ,I did not know the correct answer. ::)

Tell me what would it compete against in post 90 ??? There is no other air cooled 500's that i can think of, certainly not in big enough numbers to form a class with.
Wanted - 1978 TS185 frame or frame&motor. Frame # TS1852-24007 up to TS1852-39022

No post 90 air cooled class and no post 90 VMX. The WR500 was an ancient bloody heap of a motor in a later YZ250 chassis .... so it is not even a follow on bike. I would park it for the next 20 years until VMX catches up and we see the WR500 as highly desirable classic from a by gone era, maybe I remember racing one too clearly still.

all of the above is what I pondered, but was unsure.I also think that it will not qualify for vinduro as well.

I doubt it will pass muster as Vinduro bike at all. Normally should be pre 85, better start shopping for PE, IT or something. I raced a WR500 for most of a season and it was the worst Enduro bike i could imagine..... no bottom end and heaps of mid range then signing off early made it miserable.  You can go much faster on IT200 in the bush.

Maybe Pre-95 is closer than we think?

I had a WR500 for a few months....got sick of digging it out of the trenches it made going up sandy loam hills, sold it and bought a brand new WR200 and had the best 2 years trailriding you could imagine, traded that on a new XR400 when they came out, spent the next 2 years crashing my brains out, sold it and bought my first Husaberg....back in heaven....had 3 now and about to buy my 4th.
QVMX.....Australia's #1 VMX club......leading the way.
