True classic collectors item Yamaha XT550 only $5000!

The old XT550 would have to have one of the fugliest tanks in dirt bike history. 5K's a lot of money to spend to have your mates take the piss at your taste in bikes.

on this yellow one,
 a mates been trying to find a suitable YZ tank to put on his 550 but reckons they won't fit over the frame tube due to the shock.
what tank did you use on this one? and any mods that went along with it would be a great help.

They're not a bad bike, but oh that ugly tank. The bike could have been so much nicer with some thought as you've shown with yours Evo.

 That's a hell of a lump of fibreglass on that bike Tony. I bet she handled well with half a tank swishing around in there.

Tonys bike with the Acerbis Africa tank, looks like its set to do the 'Dakar legends/reuinion' ride or what ever its called where they do it on all the old bikes from back then. With a big tank like that you really need some baffles in it i reckon.
