great for speedway primary chains ! i used to use it sitting on top of 2 bricks spaced apart with a small burning container of methanol between the bricks. i can still smell it .

Is it just me or was that stuff brilliant? I loved it, even if my mum didn't - I was always using the kitchen stove to cook it...

My mate Jonsey still does all of his chains this way. They don't make Duckhams any more but I think he uses Silkolene or something like that. We all give him shit but he swears by it.
Another mate burned his parents kitchen down back in the 70s doing his Maico chain on the stove and falling asleep on the lounge while it was boiling. It was lucky the whole house didn't go up.

have one in my garage somewhere , they work awesome but such a hassle compared to spraying on some chain lube (Belray of course).

- used to wait until my wife went to work before pulling it out & boiling it up on the stove!!

My mother vividly remembers my one effort at using Duckhams chain lube on her stove.

She reminds me of it and the marks in the lino to this day.

it was great i used it to but had small gas stove so i didnt get into trouble for stinking out the house i think oring chains killed it off

BP Linklube, very cheap, can you still get that stuff that coats your swingarm and rear guard ?

I don't think linklube is available anymore Hoony, it used to be on the rack beside the degreaser  and Bug Tar and spot remover  bit like tool kit in a can..promised everything and delivered nothing

i remember it being about $1.35 in the 80's , all it ever did was fling off every where.

yup..and it was black as the ace of spades and foamed up everywhere and the nozzles never directed it anywhere near where you'd have liked it to go..bloody useless but at the time I though it was kinda ok..stayed on a little longer than motor oil from the oil can but jeez it was messy. The Castrol stuff at the time was little better
