I checked the frame F so it is 85 with some 84 gear I would swap the tank for 85 and 84 front end for 85. ;)

A CR250 MOTOCROSS BIKE FOR $50 YOU CANT COMPLAIN!!!! Its not a XL100 or something so basically i reckon you got a very good bargain.

You can easily make 10X that if you part it out on ebay, look at all the guys that do it, they arent silly.

And there you go, capps is offering $100 for the forks, you could get $30 for mag cover, $50 for the clutch cover, $75 for the trans etc etc, it all adds up quickly and before you know it you got several hundred in your pocket to throw towards your PE's or what ever. ! I just bought a PE transmission set in Canada for $50 i think, plus a kick starter shaft for about $25 a CDI for $50 plus more bits and before i knew it i had bought over $200 US in engine parts and few other things. I maybe could have bought a complete motor here for $300 but i didnt really care because i wanted good condition low hour parts and overseas is where you find them.

So if you want to make make money parting it out is the way to go, otherwise if you wanna do it up, since you already paid only $50 for it which is just lunch money these days, you almost got a free bike and you have got a headstart already and can aford to spend $1000 on it. Its not like you have paid $600 for it already and still gonna need to spend another $1000 on it.

I am only joking about the $50 for that much I could throw petrol on it and set it on fire but no way I will do that I would have paid more for it our factory is supposed to be done now but I might drive past tommorow and see then no worries how many bikes I get I will just buy a seat and decent pipe and it is complete. :)

It was going to get scrapped by my mate so it is saved. :)

I am actually a bit suprised by this bike it isn't as bad as it looks I mean it was obviously owned by some one who was good at putting go fast stickers on and not much else. ;)

I am a bit worried though did these rot in the water pump area there are screws missing in the crank cases and high temp red has been used on the water cover maybe as a gasket?

I need a seat and I will buy a new or good second hand crank case/water pump cover.

I will check it out on the weekend hopefully it isn't to bad it hasn't got any water in it maybe it might be ok who knows.

The guys at the local wreckers told me not to get a cr of that era for that reason if it is buggered what is the fix a bit of welding?

gtting a good case will be hard as they all have that problem.

if it is repairable it can be welded or devcon can be used. if devcon has been used on it before then welding is not an option.
