Indian minibike??
« on: October 24, 2010, 09:11:44 pm »
Can anyone tell what this thing is and the story behind them, he does rubbish removals and comes across some old bike stuff which he passes on to me, but once he saw the "Indian" badge on the side cover he wasn't letting this one go!!

I had a look over it and the ignition has "Ducati" stamped on it.
Did ducati own the name at some stage??
Is it worth anything??

Looking fo a TZ750 anyone with any leads please PM

It's an Indian 70cc minibike from the early 70's built in the US. Hard to get parts in Oz but they were popular in the US. Ducati made the ignition.

The engines are made by Minarelli in Italy. The only thing American or Indian is the name.
Want to sell it?

Thanks Firko, I don't think he's going to let it go......just yet. If he decides to get rid of it I'll let you know as I don't need any more "project" bikes

The ignition isn't the ducati most people think of but ducati electronica which is/was a completely different company. My first couple of sherco trials bikes had their ignition with them changing to leonelli around 03, not sure if they still exist
