Husky Hub ID needed - single - twin ????
« on: October 24, 2010, 09:42:27 am »
Gents

I have an unusual Husky front wheel which I need IDing

The rim is the same style as the ones on 1982 and 83 models.

The hub is a conical shape, the cast iron brake drum is protruding about 5mm past the alloy hub, making a shoulder which is not on another hub.  I have been told the other  is a 1981/82 version which has the cast iron brake drum narrower than the hub, making a 5mm recess of the backing plate to fit into. And it is a single leading shoe bake   Both hubs have the same shape on the non brake side  I checked a 1983 model front hub which has a twin leading front brake and the non brake side on that one has a larger diameter

I thought they only made one style of single leading hub and one twin leading type of hub  This one seems to be a blend of the two  When the one with the protruding shoulder goes into the forks of a 1981 CR 125 it sits about 5mm off centre

Any help appreciated

Pete

Answer was the hub with the brake drum protruding past the hub is off the 1979/80 model.
