Does anyone know when the first Scott steering damper was produced?

FWIW I've found out from another forum that they were first produced in 1987.
Which means it will be coming off the SWM to make it Vinduro legal.  ;D

Nah, the bike came with it on, so I'll pull it off and stick it in a box somewhere for my wife to sell when I'm dead................  ::)

Fat bars would be okay though ::)

If your doctor has recomended that you have a pacemaker fitted then you won't need to bother if your going to ride a twitchy bike with no steering damper ;D
