Wow that is making my last Sundays effort look a bit lame.
What a mission this was
300kg, plus boxes of tooling. No lifting pionts.
Had to dismantle it and carry out piece by piece to load.

Arrrh well being in peices is deffinately making it allot easier to get it in to the master bedroom.

Now I just need some stepper motors and control box.

Arrrrrh yes my learned friend, the iron oxide was complimentary Graeme.

I got it very cheap.
When I arrived he had all the missing pieces in boxes, as well as thousands of dollars worth of tooling

DMLS is a process of laser sintering metal stock, via digital control, mostly used for producing prototype engineering models.

I doubt anyone would concede that there is a viable mass production market in Vintage MX.

In our love, I imagine "one off jobbing" would be the preferred method for the enthusiast, who has his heart set on research and development or repair. Or CNC for good guy, helping his mates out whilst he funds his personal addiction, or servicing midstream industry demands.

Mick F1 gearboxes are made the same way, they are not mass market. F1 constructors may have went to carbon fibre cases now(or vice versa) bit the non-critical sections of the cases were less than 1mm thick. Ferrari made several titanium gearboxes a material that is extremely difficult to cast. F1 has moved away from Ti for cases to a mandated specification aluminium alloy. The beauty of this is that casting is by passed all together.

Well I guess that answers my question about the structural integrity of the resultant materials.

Limited only by your imagination and your skill on Solidworks/MasterCam etc etc. Actualy you don't really need any skills, just a bottle of bourbon and a big net.Put the net down outside the Engineering Facualty at a Uni, put the bottle in the centre of the net, I'm sure you get the picture now, in no time you'll have a clutch of engineering students keen to just about anything to get that bottle. Only 1 tip, STL file first THEN the bottle.
