anybody checked out DDR recently?  Some of their "collection" being freed up - 1984 CR500 $10K, 1984 KX500 $9.5K

Mate it waqs the 84 Yammie IT490 for 12,000 that was the topper!  Sorry but his prices seem to have gone back through the roof!!

I bought a bike off them 4yrs back.  Was told it just needed the head gasket replacing.  Yep, lucky I had the motor rebuilt, oils seal in the wrong way, piston, bearing etc!!!  Yep had the wet look.  but I must admit they did get the model I wanted, just not the price for what i got.

At least today they make them fire up for 30 seconds of video!!1  hopefully they provide better bikes than they did.

Those fully restored bikes that he's asking $10,000+ for you could probably get for under $2,000 U.S.  Old dreamer on ebay is selling bikes in that sort of condition for better money.  I looked at his feed back to see what he was paying for them on U.S. ebay and most were around the $1,200-1,600us mark.

But I don't think DDR's market is us.  There's cashed up blokes on a nostalgia trip who aren't involved in the VMX scene who just want the bike of their childhood dreams who have the cash to buy one and put it in the poolroom.  He does seem to move them.  Although some have been sitting there for a few years now.

             I've brought a number of bikes from Wade at DDR, he's a good honest bloke
             and all the bikes have been better than described. Sure, if you want to shop
             around and have the time to do so you will find cheaper, but in the end whats
             your time worth. He's delivery guy's are also very good. Thats my experience
             with Dead Dog Racing.

I heard on another site some one ran into trouble with an enduro they purchased from ddr because it wasn't adr complianced can't be registered.

A trap for young players, for sure. But with the number of old enduro bikes that were never complianced (even if you bought it new from your local dealer), and the fact that the DDR bikes are clearly imports, I reckon the buyer would be mad not to ask first.

I think that real early stuff can be rego'd without compliace. Just a worry I have been told either you have a comp plate or you need an engineers certificate so that is an additional cost to factor in if you plan on rego vmx it obviously doesn't affect.
