Anyone got info on this ebay seller - olddreamer13
« on: September 06, 2010, 09:33:21 pm »
Hi,
Asking for information from anyone that has purchased from, or had contact with, this ebay seller, olddreamer13. He is located in Melbourne and imports high quality motocross bikes. These bikes look too good for the asking price, compared to what is offered locally, from our domestic stock. Is this the real deal, or could it be another evil-bay setup?  ???
I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.

We had a few bikes on our ebay watch list ...though nothing sold .
I think things are quiet at the moment on selling..
I do believe they where a tad over priced.  :-X
Some sellers bring them into the country as they are ,so its "what you see is what you get".
If you can get someone to go have a look for you and kick it over, that's always  a bonus. ;D
cheers

I think a lot of those bikes are expensive for what they are.
He's had plenty of bikes on ebay for a while with no negative feedback so i guess it's the real deal.

I personally wouldn't want to lay down cash for a bike that's "in transit from the U.S. to Melbourne".
I'm not suggesting for a minute that this bloke isn't the real deal and is a decent, honest guy, but the fact that he hasn't even seen the bike yet himself is a little concern for me.
I'd just rather deal with a fellow VMX enthusiast that has actually owned the bike for a while before selling it on.  ;)

Bit of a worry the bikes listed are almost always being delivered to Australia just outside the 45 day claim period on ebay/paypal. doesnt leave any room for recourse.

Everything may be honky dory but I dont think I would risk it, also if the bikes are coming out of the US, I thought complete bikes had to have a title to be shipped whole ??? ???
Always looking for Maico parts/bikes, cash paid

Jim these blokes do it the correct way, complete and in one piece, not like you me and Alan!

I know I've said it before but I personally know the blokes involved and don't doubt for one minute that the bikes are kosher and are in as advertised good condition.

Thanks Guys,
I too have been ripped off buying a bike from photos and false description. It's those few, that it more difficult for the honest ones. Once bitten twice shy. I guess the bikes to buy, are the ones getting around the vmx events, from people who are active in vmx racing that spend the time and money on their bikes.

buying from vmx racers is no protection from a false description. i bought a bike from a well known forum member who stated the bike was "race ready". it arrived by truck and when i pulled out the air filter it crumbled in my hands plus bike needed a piston kit.!!  false description is the big problem.

just thought i would bring this old thread back. My father recently bought a bike from this seller on ebay, without inspecting it first..

The bike is as good if not better than the photos, he is an easy going guy was very helpfull with us picking the bike up etc.

Buying a bike from the usa isint everyones cup of tea, but if your after a quality bike. This is one seller you wont have any trouble with..!

Did he bring the bike in with no title, and in one piece? I have always been lead to believe that you couldn't do that.
If that is the way it happened, how can it be done because I have previously had to have the bike dismantled and sent over in boxes.
It would be a lot less stressful to bring bikes in all in one piece. ::)

not sure on that one mate, will get back to you.

should also mention it was already in the country, not in transit.
