1973 Yamaha SC 500

Just found this and to be honest until now i never heard if this model but i guess the brains  trust can inform me is this really rare.  and is it worth this money.

Reasonably rare, not vastly desirable, worth $7800, looks pretty mint but you can buy some much more collectable bikes for the money.

mx fool - Sc 500's came in the grey and the yellow A-model ,  : so yeah its a normal model... but $7k......... i thinks thats a bit out there, but if thats the case for that you can have my yellow one or the grey one take you pick ...... actually for $8k you probally can have both mine

$7,800 is a lot of money for a not that rare model that isn't especially good at what it's built for.  Seeing that I recently bought a clean MX360, a vastly better bike than the SC500 for $250, I don't reckon this is a bargain.

I wonder why he's got 250 class green plates on it?

You're gotta be kidding me. "Fully restored, excellent condition,"

That is a badly 'tarted over' POS. - I'll bet quids to peanuts it won't pass a close inspection. It's got El Cheap $150 road shocks - what self respecting rider/restorer would put crap like that on a MX'er . All the polished highlights on the engine are painted over. We won't mention the wrong colour race plates - wrong for racing and wrong for OEM. What are the non-orinignal gaiter covering .

Hey fellow VMX people! I just acquired a pair of SC 500's one or both is going to find a new home). The Yellow one w/ the laydowns is for sale NOW (and the other one w/ the numbers on it will be shortly). All there & has good compression. $1200.00 obo. May trade for other VMX bikes or parts.

Hi.. had a sc500 in a hagon  short circuit  frame .Was quick but very unreliable, sold it in the end it did my head in
