about time for a new project!
« on: September 02, 2010, 09:40:47 pm »
the one thing that seems to be missing from the forum of late is some good old fashioned, before and after, look what I done made'd, here's me bike and that (and shit), projects!!

so without further ado, I'd like to present.....

someone else's project!

Young Vandy (he's actually younger than Frosty but he doesn't keep going on about his age like Frosty does) has managed to turn the assorted piles of poo (sold to him by an unscrupulous spare parts merchant)....

into this...

You are so right, always good to watch a bike come back to life.

Looking forward to following your progress…

You do realise that young master Vandy has Teh Skilz when to comes to riding peaky bikes, and he's gonna blow your doors off?

And that photo of you as a baby explains much about why you are the way you are.

Good thread Vandy,
Your publicist has done well.
Forgive my ignorance but is that a 125 or 250 F?

I have a mate that is doing up a 125 F, he’s chasing an airbox and sidecovers. Where are the best sources for these?

Nathan,

I don't think ANYTHING can explain why he is the way he is  :o :o

Well Done Vandy - what are you going to do with all that suspension travel.  You may have to limit it so you can ride it  ;D ;D
Looking for YZ250C parts NOS if possible

The only triple jumps he would have been doing are the hop, skip & jump.

he's already ridden my 125f and went like a shower of the proverbial on it, whereas I'm struggling, so yes, I'm well aware of what is going to happen when we line up in an actual race.

and I think I deserve some credit for being able to train that ferret to lift me up like that!

Geoff, the sidecovers for the 125f's are like rocking horse poo. The DC ones are fairly average but could be made to work if that was all you could find. I ended up finding a US yellow one and painting it white for my 125f, you do see the airboxes on ebay from time to time.

he's a sly bugger that Mainline hey... :D
well i got the bucket of bolts from him in December last year i think and it's taken me this long to get it to this stage.
just got the cases back from my ally welding guy as this is all of Pauls old reject stuff and nearly everything is phucked in someway or another ;D
i'm officially out of cash so the motor rebuild will take a bit longer than i'd like.
GMC,
it's a 125F and the sidepanels are DC plastics.
the side you see in the pic fitted up ok but the other side is a real shocker of a fit and i just grit the old teeth, doctored it in a little with the stanley knife and i'll just live with it as it'll be a racer.
i don't have a spare airbox but they do come up from time to time on yankie ebay.
motor wise, it'll run an IT125 barrel with only a few small mods, a little bit of pipe work and a YZ80 ignition.
thanks for the compliments guys!
much appreciated.
nice baby 8)

Thats looking bloody awesome Vandy, I have to say I cant wait to get a new project going myself, but the shed has to be finished first.
So when are you, Mainline, YZ250H and Nathan going to come on over?
If at first you dont succeed, give up and drink beer

Hey Mick would love a rematch this side of the ditch  :)

If we make it look easy its only because of the amazing generosity and support we get over there  :)

I would Fly, drive, swim , or crawl past almost any other track to get a ride at Connondale  ;D it really is world class  :)

Nice project by the way  :)
