The great Northern road trip is about to begin.
Just waiting on Drakie & Dangerous Dave to show and we will be on our way.
Allthough Drakie tells me yesterday I have to weld something for him before we go.
Next time I will meet at his place even if it is 1 1/2 hours in the opposite direction.

See you there.

He mentioned something about needing a new pipe and silencer. Oh, and some small frame modifications. Oh, and…

By my calculations you should hit the road some time next Tuesday. Enjoy the trip.  :D

Just returned from Rockley vinduro had a great time cutting laps weather was perfect rained just after we finished on Saturday and stoped raining just before we started on Sunday. Like to thank Manly club Shoey Darren and Husky Pete  for putting on a great event again also like thank the Victorians for venturing north and bringing the rain with them and then buggering off back to Victoria and leaving it here and VMXken for letting me have a ride on his pride and joy Beta 125. Damm I want one.

Was it a high pipe for a Montesa?? Was it? Was it? C'mon, you know you want to make one..........  :D :D

Seriously, I'm sure it was a great event and I'm very much looking forward to getting to one or two next year.

Many thanks to Ribbo, Shoey and Husky Pete for a great event.
Thanks also to the Manly club and all its workers, a great hassle free effort.

We had a good time Saturday cutting many laps on different bikes.
We heard that Sunday you had to ride in reverse, none of our bikes had a reverse gear so we opted to sit out the rain at the lodge and talk about how great we used to be.
It was a perfect weekend

thank the Victorians for venturing north and bringing the rain with them and then buggering off back to Victoria and leaving it here

Don't know what your talking about ::), we left Vic. in good weather and returned to find it still with good weather.
All the other states just like to start nasty rumours about our weather  :D

We felt like the odd ones at this event as we didn't have a single IT or Husky between us.
The event seemed to be dominated by these makes.

Part time sponsor of the Vic’s. the Fabulous Baker Boy harnesses the power of his mighty Maico

This is getting to be a common theme at events for Dangerous Dave lately.

Well looky here, there’s an ignition wire melted onto my exhaust that’s causing all my drama's

Once fixed, the mighty little YZ 100 could loft the front wheel into the air just like a Maico 490. (well, almost)

Thanks Ribbo, Husky Pete and Shoey for a great day up there ...
(I gather second day was even better!)

CRANKY 400s
If anyone needs a killer boot to quickspin kickstart a stubborn bigbore, just call on that big bloke Ribbo.   I was amazed ....

NO CLUTCH
Thanks Pete for allowing me a window on the auto experience ... it was cool.   Really nice bike indeed.  Very Pelle!

MID-ENGINES
Thanks Rob for bringing the PE too.   It loves to have a chat (ter) when rear-braking.   Drakey says it was the weapon of choice at Rockley.

TRACK TIME
Ribbo's Rockley, where you do seven kilometres of tight, white dirt, right-angled, 1st gear turns under trees, come up onto the hill of cyclone-wrecked water tanks ... and head into the fifth gear, big-bore grasstrack.
How bloody tricky tight was the last corner of grasstrack down the bottom there!   Final hi-speed run heads you into the frame cemetery.   Back to tight turns, and then drop down into the pits.

As a non-Rockler, I was confounded by the tight stuff in morning (How do we do this?!) - and preferring the smaller grasstrack at very beginning past cattle gate entry, and the main grass track over out back.

But by mid-arvo, I kinda got the swing of it ... and was laughing out loud, riding the tight tree bends.   I was liking it more than the grasstrack.

PILOTS
The IT crowd was on-hand and circulating in tight formations.
Steve Baker did his Harrow thing and rode flat-out all day.
Somehow Drakeford managed to find THREE different PE rides.  (How un-CZ was that)
Ken brought the new-as jem of a Hodaka out from the coast.
Playing cards were dealt ... I think one guy even got three "2"s!
On a sour note, I caught one bastard trying to double straight back onto the grasstrack and ride it twice ... but I put him straight.   He had a black helmet and Gasit top.  Ribbo and I know who you are!

Top day ... many thanks to all

Mate, that's no water tank - it's a Soviet satellite, I'm sure of it!

Ribbo spilled the beans, we all know who was cutting laps on the grass track ;)

You should have been there friday afternoon the big 500 husky was cranking on the grass track, we used a full tank of fuel, still recovering from holding onto the beast, someone had to break in the virgin grass track ;D ;D

It was a pleasure to have Doggy, Geoff, Drakie, LA and GB out there, glad you all enjoyed the ride.
