Arent Daytona's the same as road boots or close enough ? there was an ASI - speedway shop here that sold them $220 ? IIRC, anyhow i think they closed up shop a month back, but any speedway shop/importer would surely have them.

I know this guy makes hot skids for normal MX type boots  ;)

Hello My name is Ben Alameda and I make Affordable High quality Steel Shoes,

These shoes are double sided to prevent dirt from packing between boot. They are made ultra light yet strong.  I only use the best tungsten carbide hardfacing available. When ordering a shoe I am open to inquiries concerning your riding style so I can make the best possible shoe for you.

Adult sizes with strap: $195 Youth sizes with strap: $165

Dennis Alderton used to make ours a long time ago and you can use pretty much whatever boot you want but you have to linish the heel and most of the sole off to make it fit neatly.
I do a bit of metal fab, I should look into making them.

the difference is the left boot is smooth and no heal to take the steel show, right boot has a heal and a grippy surfaced sole

i bought a set of Daytona speedway boots back in 1988 from Kevin Mac Donald in Bathurst for around $430  ::) a lot of money back then  :o

I noticed most of the guys in the US require the boot to be sent over, which is a pain in the ass.

Steve, that's because too loose a fit and it could feel like sticking your foot into a sand pit.
If your interested you could be my guinea pig, but I'll need your boot?

Sounds like a plan Steve. I'll have to sort out a boot as the one i had intended using has fallen apart! (the right foot is sweet as?) I'll get back to you when i get sorted.

The ones Mr Alameda does look good!

Cheers,
Steve
