i have a 430 82 husky and it has smooth strong pulling power from idle and it revs as well. my 500 83 husky is not as good. it does not have strong pulling power down low in the revs as you would expect. compression is good. other husky owners have also said the 430 is better than the 500 and i want to improve the 500. so thats why im asking how?

I can't type for that long. All depends on what you want and what the engine says you can have.

Hi mate, on a 500cr the short muffler makes it a lot more snappy, it makes more at the very bottom, revs quicker etc, if you run the wr muffler it makes a little less right off the bottom, less mid range and top but a lot easier to ride and mostly quicker lap times, for me anyway. If it was a 430 the short cr muffler is the way to go unless is muddy.
