'86 CR250 chain guide

good afternoon red heads, does anyone know where i can purchase the wear block that goes inside the rear chain guide of a 1986 CR250? honda has them listed as unavailable. i was going to try and make one out of a block of nylon, but if you guys know of any aftermarket manufacturers of these i'll just buy one. thanx, john.

yeah mike, that's exactly what i'm after or more to the point i'm after the little bit inside that the chain slides on. i saw that one but was going to see if i could source one local and new because i just don't know what the one on ebay would be like.

thanx for the tip hoony i'll have a look at what RDR have got.

as a side issue hoony, do you still use the original pegs on your cr's? or have you replaced them with something? what wide pegs from other models will bolt straight up?

i have modified my original pegs with GMC Footpeg wideners, not sure if any later model stuff bolts straight on or not.

I am looking for wider pegs for the 125 I just bought...Done the research,'87 different part #,'88 different again,'89 different again. Could just be the colour of the paint.Im going to buy a set of '88 off ebay & see how they go...

thanx guys, i ended up just cutting the little bridge part at the bottom of the outer guide away and bolting in a piece of nylon for the chain to run on using the existing lower bolt holes. i might have a look at buying some wideners for the pegs then if that's easiest.

hey hoony, i haven't had this bike long and i'm trying to set it up so given you've got a couple of them i might fire a few questions your way from time to time.

Yeah Hoony, its an '86 model...Bought it off evilbay last week,its got A worn out chain guide too! I just ordered A set of 43mm cartridge showas for the front.Also got A genuine Pro Circuit Cylinder & pipe coming
from U.S. Hope I have the ability to ride it!

great stuff, i will Never sell my #1 bike as it have had it since 1987 it will become like Firko's squarey 350 Maico.

Pro circuit pipe is the goods, cylinder will work well too, they are very fast bikes, but not peaky, just good strong engines.

best tip i can give you is retire the Standard Showa shock and get a white power or Ohlins for them

Didn't '86 models already have 43mm cartridge forks ???

RDR Have just become the Australian Agent for these guys, (Formtech Industries) , we should have our first order landing next week, from there we will gauge the requirements and try to stock at least one of everything they manufacture for Honda's 73-89
