Don't remember much it - but at least I finished this one!!!  ;D

(you lost less than half the trail time I did too!)    ::)

Actually, looks like I lost 84 minutes trail time!  Back in those days you still had (from memory) 2 minutes late allowance.  So you could be up to 2 minutes late (or early) without losing any points.   8)

I think I broke a chain adjuster (on the chain side), early in the day.  Lost lots of time trying to get through the day with the bike throwing it's chain every couple of kilometres.  So I never houred out, and when the chain stayed on through a section I would check in 2 minutes early (without penalty) to get some time (but not points) back..    :D ;) ;D ::) :)

At woodford I was like 10 mins early with no penalty. :)
Gave me a cup of tea they did.
Classy those Southside boys. :)
Toonumbah had a razor back ridge with trees laying over it.
Scarey n slippery.
This is the one where Steve Grant blew up the RM80. :'(
You know I look through these results and find that I know a heap of names.
Ah memories. :) :) :) :) :)
Check Gary Woodgate. Still a clubman. How did we ,at the ACU, miss that?
Should have been an Expert a lot earlier. Was sooooooo fast for a clubman.
He ran over the acc n breaking test scoring girl at this race, knocked the table and her flying, got a bad score for that. :o
That,s him in the youtube thingy at the bottom of this.  That,s why the hill looks so easy.

ahhh - I remember coming across Steve and his boiling RM80 - I think it was in the first or second section.  certainly very early in the day.

Also remember that the weather was good (sun shining) when I saw Steve - so can't blame bad weather!

Hmmm...  I think this event, I was running so late later in the day, that when I came across Terry Taylor broken down out on the track in one of the last sections, I ended up doubling him to the next checkpoint.  I thought I was already houred out, then when I got there and still had time to spare, I nearly shit myself!!!   ::) ::)

Ha Ha. Steve had a bottle of fuel in his backpack and kept stopping to refuel.
He would blast past me then I would come accross him .
Then he would blast past me.
Dishearting that. ;D

Then you look carefully at these results and you notice the names of the DNF,s. :o
A lot of those guys were good, real good, tough too :o
I,me starting to wonder if it was fun or just a commonly shared nightmare? :)
