Funny how it took me 5 months to restore this......


To this.......


And it took me 7 months to bother putting the correct 428 chain and 59t-14t sprockets that i got in January to say its finished  ::)

that looks mint good it is inside too I have a new home for my bikes I can call it factory suzuki when it is built becuase it is a factory if you want I could store that for you so you have room to move inside. ;) :D

Ha ha yeah Michael i've seen your work on the GT80 and i'm sure your collection of PE's will look the goods too  ;) and thanks All Things!

Hi Luke,are you back in ostraya yet? ;D I miss your updates on skydrive  :D
I keep stumbling on these 2 pics in my drawer and i'm getting withdrawal symptoms on wanting to find my/a PE175X to take up more room ;D



It must be my emotional time of year :'(

Hi Rod,thats a tough one.
EVERYTIME i buy something that needs work,within a few days a complete one turns up and should have bought that (i'm not alone i'd say) ;D and i was even keen on Tony T's 175N....but cannot get to Harrow.
What figure would i be looking at for the X? Be gentle ;D

By the way,have you got any plans for the RM125F or are you chasing parts for it?

Absolutely fantastic. My first ever bike was a new 78c in 79. I am seriously jealous.
Superb job even down to the side stand which most people either forget or dont bother with.

Thanks RMJJ,it certainly helps when Suzuki still have "a few" parts available for a 32 y/old bike.
Plus US ebay helped and typically the OZ $ was strongest after i finished it ::)
My friends ask why i have a motorbike in the loungeroom,i say because i couldn't fit it on the wall  :D
Side stand....yep gotta have it on there.It also helps when i move it around the lounge to vacuum/sweep the floor(not married ;)).
I rotate it occasionally so i can look at the other side.....don't know if/when i'll kick it into life,i just like looking at it and have a sit on it for a few minutes  :)

I don't think the PE would be such that it could be "SOLD" given the photo's that i have been given. I'm currently in Japan and when i get back i'll get the bike and go from there.

The 125F is a strange one. The rear end has been swapped out for an 82/83 unit. The rear shock has been run without oil for so long that it is completely shagged, the needle bearings in the rocker are long gone and the large through bolt has oversized the holes in the frame and the rocker. The engine wasn't to bad except the guy i got it off was a bit heavy handed and in the moving storage of the bike and it's parts broke the small piston ring retainer at the bottom of the barrell. A real shame as it was still on the original bore.

I'm leaning towards a resto as i have most of the parts except for the barrell. I don't want to go down the path of sleeving the bore as it is a pain in the arse on a 125 so i'd be looking for a replacement barell before i made a decision on which way to go.

What i would like to fing and do a resto on is a 89 RM250, just got to find one first.

Japan hey - a Nissan perk ?  ;)
When i got my bitsa RM125F it came with the destroyed engine and from what i can remember the top end is 99% AOK ie barrel,piston and head.
I honestly think that i wont be using it and would have put the parts on ebay eventually.
I 'd rather you use it than make money on it if you are restoring it.
Give us a yell when you get back.
