The first ever Aussie Vintage Enduro Event
« on: August 02, 2007, 08:09:21 pm »
Yep, this is IT! The inaugural Aussie Vintage Enduro event will be held on September 30 at Steve Juzva’s property in the temperate rainforest of Castella, one hour north east of Melbourne.

This event hopes to bring out all the old trail iron and resurrect them from the encroaching rust, wives and spiders (yep, this refers to the riders as well as bikes). So drag out your OSSA Pioneers, SDR’s, Monty H6’s, Bultaco Matadors and Fronteras, Husky WR’s, and all the PE’s, IT’s, KLX’s, XL’s you can find. However, they must be original trail/enduro bikes with effective silencing and a headlight and taillight.

With VIPER running a round at Barrabool on the same weekend as the Vintage Enduro, it's gunna be a tough one for all Pre85 riders. No matter how i write this it is going to sound like there is some ill feeling over the clash of dates and that is not the case.

In the entry form and supp regs it advises;

MACHINE EXAMINATION - All machines must comply with the 2006 GCR’s and have a headlight and tail light and an effective muffler fitted.

NOISE - All machines must comply with a 95db ride by at 30m, as required by the Environment Protection Authority. Machines over 98db will be black flagged immediately upon detection and must be presented to the Stewards of the meeting for inspection.

VIPER and its general membership want this event to succeed so that it can be staged next year and we can have the luxury of setting different dates and we can all do the same event without having to pick just one. Please do the right thing by the promoting club and the landowner and make this a huge success.
