TAUPO RACE MEETING NEW ZEALAND
« on: July 11, 2010, 12:19:30 pm »
Expression of interest ---------Who would be interested from victoria to fill a container with bikes and share the cost, and cheaper flights to Auckland next year,to race at the meeting the weekend before easter at Taupo, it also depends on where the Australia Vintage titles will be. But in saying that this trip to a great track and racing with our news zealand mates would also be a trip of a life time. Its just a thought.
Now l don`t have a clue in illustrating containers from shipping yards or hiring one or for that matter buying one. If this was to happen, we would need a person who knows what they are doing.

Sorry I'm with GD66, Victoria and someone who knows what they're doing!!

Seriously though, great idea, but will take some filling for it to be financially viable to send a container to NZ,  though you could slip a couple of bikes in on the way back.  You add in personal airfares as well, the trip could get a little bit expensive, but i hope I'm totally wrong.  Good Luck

May not be too prohibitive, actually. The Kiwis send a container full of classic roadracers over each year to the Phillip Island Classic on Australia Day weekend with minimal drama, and not too big a lead time. Maybe if you call Dave Catchpole at the Phillip Island office on 03 5952 2710, he could put you onto the kiwi connection, and things may be a little clearer when explained from that end what's required, and what the costs are likely to be.
Dave's email is [email protected]  . The other end is likely to be someone from the NZ Post-Classic Racing Association, but who the tail twister is, I don't know. Something to work with, anyway.  ;)
