The Missus just pointed out an article in Mondays Newcastle Morning Herald about the Lake Glenbawn Track closing because of lack of members :'( There is currently Ten members at the club and need 4 members to help with day to day running of the club. This track is licensed by MNSW and they state there is strict rules in keeping the club open. As Glenbawn is a licensed track, officials need to keep up safety standards or lose its accreditation. the article further states the track is used by Heaven VMX, Cessnock and Maitland riders but more are needed to rejuvenate the track, further more, Glenbawn is the only licensed track between Muswellbrook and Qurindi.Glenbawn officials are looking for ideas to help keep running. I raced on that track 3 months ago and it is a ripper and any of the other Heaven members would agree to this, to lose it would be a catastrophe as the track has been open for over 30 years, hosted between 150 to 250 bikes at a meeting. The club its seems is looking for new blood to help, I will find out about joining and try and talk a few of my mates joining and at least some of the Newcastle contingent, at least one or two weekends away a year to do a bit of work and take the bikes for a bit of a blap if it can be in the rules, drink some Turkey may help a little, seems like if we don't use it we lose it. If a few other heaven members join and looking to take missus and kids to great camping spot, fishing boating etc and taking bike with you and doing little bit to help out, this may just help this club, Any ideas thrown around on this one would be good. Bloke by the name of Simon Gallen who is local Muswellbrook policeman and Pub owner by the look of this article is open to all ideas so don't hold back
