Removing crank bearing plate CR125M

Hi All,
Can anyone give some advice on how to remove the crank bearing plate from a CR125M. The screws have been well punched to stop them coming loose. Had no success with an impact screwdriver, but didn't want to attack it with my grinder until I sought some advice from someone who has done it before.
Any tips appreciated.

Hi Ron, as i have not seen the problem screws this is just the way i would normally approach any phillips heads that are vey hard to remove.
Firstly use a flat punch say around 8mm and punch the head of the phillips head screws nice and flat as the centre normally raises up as you are trying to undo them especially with a impact driver. Now that they are flat again the screw cross is probably distorted so get a phillips tip from your impact set making sure it is the correct size for that screw and knock it into the screw untill it reseats the cross again.
Now preferably get a "T" bar screw driver (of the correct size) and dip the tip in some valve grind paste. Position the "T" bar in the screw securely and now try and undo the screw 99% of the time this will work beautifully without damaging the screws or surounding areas.

if that doesn't work, add a bit of heat as well

counterbore the punch marks 1st,that will help ,then use your impact driver!
