"Project Two 50 is a collaborative effort aimed at placing a 250 two stroke within the AMA Outdoor National series. Currently AMA rules state that a 250cc two-stroke must race against the 450 four-strokes in the Pro Class."

He didn't qualify for the main event at Red Bud. Didn't show up in the results.

Project Two 50  Bad luck in practice... a rock broke the outer clutch housing in less than one lap.

The team used practice bike parts to fix the bike. Got it ready with 5 minutes to go for the second 15 minute qualifying session.

He came out of the bowl turn heading to the finish line jump hard on the gas for a hot lap, but practice was... over.

Only 5 laps at Red Bud in total fastest lap time 2:39

I didn't suspect that you were a 'Twitter' trawler Doc.

Good info though…

There are some tracks in Australia that if you started like the clip on the webisite you would be given a stern taliking too, or at least told to take your place. I reckon he had enough of a view of the starters foot on the gate pedal not to get a hole shot! :D

not a twitter trawler Jeff, just noticed the link on their website so I had a squiz//first time I've ever been to twitter to be honest :D I dunno about the validity of the holeshot but the way he clears off after the fact speaks volumes 8)

Seems like Yamaha has a 2011 250/125, KTM still build em. They can sell every one they build in the US for off road racing.

Plus unless you really are Josh Strang you probably do pretty well on one at one piston and rings per season.

Quite a holeshot - love the cheeky look over the shoulder 'where are you boys? :D. But the rider seems to get some sort of 'heads up' at the start - he is watching into the starters box sitting back about 300mm from the gate and is moving before the gate drops. But not withstanding, a dominant holeshot, dominant first corner.......and goneski ;D - 'catch me if you can boys' 8).
