You Know What I Hate, What I Really, Really, Hate?
« on: June 25, 2010, 08:43:41 pm »
Individuals' that use E-Bay to sell there wares, advertise an item as a "No Reserve" auction then put a starting price on the auction.

I contacted one TOOL & offered him (or perhaps her, not sure) a fair price on a "No Reserve" auction only to be told that they wanted the starting price as a minimum. It then decended into a slagging match to the point that he pulled the sale.

i always start my auctions at the lowest i will take -if you set a reserve  ebay charges you for the reserve also starting at what you want gets rid of the dickheads who think they are going to get for example a 450 ktm exc for 500.00 also culls out a lot of knobs asking stupid questions

i am with you shoreline start the auction with the lowest price you will take for it no need to put no reserve price.then buyers know what you will take if no one bids
stuff giving ebay 18.00 to set a reserve price

yep, I go with Shoreline's philosophy also. Starting price is always my minimum and though I don't set a 'reserve' my starting price is infact just that.

Me too. I start with my "happy to get" price and everything after that is a bonus.

I don't even bother selling on eBay as Auctions now.  I always list with a "Buy it Now" price and accept offers.  That way you don't have to dick around with wannabes and if someone makes a decent offer, you can decide to sell it.

The major point being that you are controlling the sale, not the buyers.  ;)

Warranty claims ...... You buy it from a retailer and when it's farked, reply is that it has to be sent to manufacturer .......but I didn't buy it from them dickhead.
Politicians ......are like septic tanks they are full of shit.

I understand the "reserve" & "starting price" option on e-bay, its the dumbshits that highlight, caption & bold there own typed text saying that it is a no reserve auction, yet they list a starting price.

I hate ebay for bikes parts it is good for, I'd rather deal directly if someone want's a bike they will find one ebay was good when it first started now every one is on it and people have worked out you can get your mates to bid your auction up and leave you good feedback if they have pushed you to far and won the auction them selves.

Buying something off ebay, getting it and discovering that the seller is a lying toe rag.
Then discovering that the seller is a member of this forum.
That,s what I hate. >:(
