CD8 poll failure.
« on: June 21, 2010, 12:59:19 pm »
I do not want to re-ignite the "CD8 location" debate!
But I can't let this go:

Quote
Numbers are not passionate or emotional and they are not biased, in this case the numbers tell the story:

QLD - CONONDALE: 48 (49%)

NSW - RAYMOND TERRACE: 19 (19.4%)
VIC - BROADFORD/BARRABOOL: 25 (25.5%)
WA: 1 (1%)
SA: 1 (1%)
NT: 4 (4.1%)

The poll is badly flawed from the start. The suggested venues are NOT the only possible venues in each of those states.
To draw any conclusions from such a flawed poll is completely wrong.

Again, this is not about where CD8 should be held, its about not drawing inaccurate conclusions from polls that mean nothing.
I mean, my poll will clearly show that nobody rates the Maico 490 as the best bike ever - the number don't lie!

Now, where's that face-palm icon?

Sorry for (yet another) rant. I really did credit the poll maker with more understanding than that...

The irony is whatever we say or decide will have no bearing on, if and were CD8 is held

I don't take any notice of any of these forum polls and have only ever contributed to one. The results mean 3/5 of FA, they're easily manipulated and are usually badly drawn up. I'd be hesitant to base any opinion on the results of any forum polls.

Let’s face it for a VMX tragic, CD’s are like sex, mostly great. I guess I am saying it’s a bit too early and possibly unfair to be asking “when and where would you like the next CD?” when your still wearing a hard on from Canondale.

Welll... you guys have always wanted to expand into the States.

But... how do I convince my wife I should jet off to the States for a week without her?

Let us know ASAP AJ so we can start saving  ;D Diamond Dons sounds like a good 2nd choice to Connondale  ;)

Well looks like AJ is shouting us all to the states.

Good on you mate ;)

Nathan I never get to involved with any off your posts for the reason being if you don't like what other people are saying you keep going on and on about it until they either do or give up. We all have a view too mate and some times you need to except that and let it go!

That said,

I am always going to want it at Conondale as I love the venue. But I did liked Broadford and Raymond Terrace and would go back to each in a flash (if that is where they are to be held). But for shear numbers and the differing disciplines it is a hard place to beat (Conondale).

The point of the matter is it is up to Ajay and Ken as to where it is held and as a sponsor I have said I would commit regardless of where it is at (within Australia that is) and if it is in WA well Alison will need to be pitching some tents in her back yard for us ;D

Lets get off this kick as I am still have fond memories of two weeks ago (save for the cling wrap to the bike episode) and will just wait and see where we are going next!!!

It will only get bigger and better if we ALL support it.

Jock, I understood where you were coming from when you started the poll. But I had thought/hoped that christ-knows how many pages of discussion that came after it, would have made it clear that the poll was pretty much useless.
The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.
