Jerry, yes l have had a laugh, and every comment on thread from mark, firko, brian, jerry, you are right, l feel at this stage of vintage racing, this issue needs to be looked at and the ruling needs to be changed, and Geoff, l will be racing the Bultaco, l didn`t go to cambelltown because l stayed home to win the bultaco on ebay. I don`t what forum fellows to argue over rules, l would like us the riders to request this cut off date should be looked at and changed for the best. We Australia vintage movement need to look after our own and stop following England and Amercia ways. This is Not just for me because l own a Mk8, l am guilty of this current ruling at present, but l also look into the future. its for all of us and new members, Stan has just bought a mk8 125, where is he going to ride it what class, 3 months ago l sold my mk8 125, and it was a ripper, l wish l hadn`t, and my new bike will be ridden.

Dave,
I have been riding my Mk8 250 at all levels for the past few years with no eligibility problems.
It is very simple to do as Firko says, put a Mk 7 swing arm on which gives 4" travel and put a spacer in the forks to bring it back to 7" inches.
Pre 75   7"/4" has been the rule since the beginning of VMX.Unless someone wants to go through the proper process to MA with a rule change all of this post is just dribble.
Set your bike up as above or sell it.!!!

Looks like l will have to change it mk 7 spec, either leave it as mk8  and ride pre78 classes. either way what different does it make, 1 inch of travell, the heavier you that inch would come in handy. by the way moto who ever you, this talk is not dribble, it would save a lot of frustation if the rules were re-written and the cut of dates changed.

No ever mentions the Husy Mag having 6" of rear wheel travel just because it looks right? Or the fact YZ B's have 9" of fork travell Its all BS.
At the Goffs nats in the all in feature race the guy won it by a big margin agianst all bikes riding a 74 KTM 250 and one of the rear shocks fell off on the first lap. Fasts riders win on anything regardless of rules.
Current bikes. KTM MC 250 77 Husky CR 360 77, Husky 82 420 Auto Bitsa XR 200 project. Dont need a pickle just need to ride my motorcickle

No ever mentions .... the fact YZ B's have 9" of fork travell ...

Because they don't.
The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.
