Square Barrel 2fiddy
« on: August 02, 2007, 07:10:23 pm »

Here are some 'before' photos. Hopefully in the not to distant future there will be some 'afters'. My old man wanted a bike project so i dropped this down to him the other day. He was over the moon! Btw she's still on standard bore....how good is that! While I'm here, does anybody have a colour code for the yellow that these were also painted? Also are there any mods i should do before it gets a make over e.g frame mods etc? It's going to be a racer. Cheers,Brad

What year is it? I have a '71 MC250 that looks pretty much the same, but not as good condition.

Don't know what the color code is but Maico used the same paints as the VW's. Darcy

Wow, its been nearly 12 months since i bought this thing. Finally its her time. Dad had painted the frame and done alot of pollishing. I had the fork tubes done and just recently put a fair slab of hard earned into her. Just a few more parts im waiting on so as to complete it.
A special thanks goes out to Les from Mainly Maico, as he has gone the extra mile for me on this project.
I think he knows my credit card details by heart by now  ::).

Nice Brad. Good to see the old man hasn't gone for the conical front hub and has kept the full width front brake. I was never that brave! The yellow changed from model to model but if you can find a VW colour chart, the colours for each year matched.
