Greeves Hawkstone one of only 87 made!! Note the twin carbies and it still has the original 46 year old front tyre on it.
A Greeves with a Starmaker motor attached is as good as it gets in Pre ’65.

It is classified as a 24MDS (or possibly a 24ME) Greeves, not a Hawkstone.

There is one in Victoria in use, and one in bits in my shed.

And another will be making it's comback at CD7 . This one's a bit 'improved' by the fitting of an NSU Sportmax engine to produce a pretty good replica of the bike Brian Stonebridge rode in GPs in 1959. The bike's being built by one of our sports forgotten legends, Frank Stanborough who amongst other things ran the Honda race shop in the 70's and was Graeme Smythes mechanic on the legendary SR works bikes when he rode for Kawasaki.

Check it out in the Kevlar Kompound, it's a work of art.

My brother raced a twin carb cotton scrambler for years, and it was about 10 years ago l gave the junction box away to a member of ours thinking that he may use it on one of his greeves.

It is definitely an MES, it will be the first part  of the frame number,  I have been racing one for 7 or 8 years now and when I  get it all together  (rarely) it is the match for any 250 out there
