« on: May 16, 2010, 01:00:55 pm »
Tried burning some R30 in my wifes oil burner instead of all that fragrant crap that gives me a headache. She's not happy.....
Cheers,
K

What ratio where are you running K ?
Those oil burners like it real rich, but carbon build up is a problem.
R30 oil is the best option, although I have tried Maxima 927 and no complaints from the missus, but costs more than R30 though and can be hard to find.
You could try finding a new missus! I've told mine when she turns 50, I'm going to swap her for two 25 year olds.  :D :D

Mate...... think for a minute about having to train 2 woman for 25 years so they will let you go riding whenever you want to :o :o  Not worth the grief if you ask me ;D ;D I take it the missus is well trained by now ???

I use to use Shell-M and R30 in my TM125 (in 74), is the Shell-M any cheaper than the R ?

That was 1973/4 ? freaky lot of hazy days between then and now  :D,but the bike went thru both my brother and me,,didnt use M all the time only when racing i think ???maybe when we used 115/145 octane or , never missed a beat, why is there a problem running it threw pump's or something?, fine detail just eludes me at the moment  :)

Yeah not sure but possibly oldfart, like the R in castrol R"S for racing,we used it in other bike's using methanol because full castor was recommended for it 's clinging ability, at high revs, but must be mixed up as you use it ,it separates easily, maybe its better threw a oil pump as in the TM-125 ?as i said before we didnt have any trouble with super or 115/145 with it but 30 something years dulls the memory slightly, todays so called castors - castrol r,maxima 927 etc which are blended with synthetics dont seem to separate or gum up as much :)

Freakshow:  Now that you've got me thinking about it, the old shell M was way thinner than the R30 that i use these days. Maybe that's why we used it in the TM.  :)
